Peter Cunningham
Peter Cunningham brings to Axelrod & Associates six years
of experience in the inner circle of a legendary political and governmental
operation as an Executive Assistant and long-time speech writer
to Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. Cunningham was directly involved
in developing and executing communications strategy for Daley throughout
this period, which included his 1995 reelection campaign.
A strong writer with a journalism background, Cunningham also oversaw
or was directly involved in major policy initiatives for Daley on
a wide range of issues, including crime, transportation, professional
sports development, tourism and conventions, minority business development
and neighborhood redevelopment.
Cunningham previously served as chief speech writer for Illinois
Attorney General Neil Hartigan in his 1990 campaign for governor
and has worked extensively with Axelrod & Associates over the
years contributing substantively and creatively to the firm's political
commercials.
